(CDNX:VAN.V - News) (Other OTC:VNGRF.PK - News) ("Vangold") reports that the Board has been informed by the operator of the 15-28-37-8W5M Strachan Alberta Leduc Formation sour gas well that it is abandoning the target Leduc Formation zone as no commercial hydrocarbons in the Leduc Formation were encountered.

The company has been drilling as per our press release of January 7, 2009. Vangold plans to meet with our partners and the operator as soon as possible to review other potential opportunities that were encountered during the drilling of the Strachan 15-28 well.
