In this new research report titled, "Mobile Business Intelligence: A Path to Pervasive BI?" Aberdeen research has revealed that process management plays an important role in an organization's ability to deliver business intelligence capabilities to the mobile workforce. Two processes in particular can prove to be important factors toward achieving Best-in-Class performance. "User-directed scheduling of report delivery puts the power of information filtering in the hands of the end-user," said David Hatch, Vice President and Principal Analyst of Aberdeen's Business Intelligence Practice. "Mobile users are accustomed to the customization that is delivered with current mobile device applications and the ability to select and schedule reports should not be treated differently." The report reveals that as companies continue to focus on delivering information to the mobile workforce, they will also need to address the timeframes within which information must be delivered in order to affect action in the field. Today, only 23% of companies (and 39% of Best-in-Class companies) surveyed report that they can deliver information to the mobile workforce within an hour of a business event occurring (including a request made by the mobile worker). Sixty-two percent (62%) of respondents indicate that they desire this capability today. The report investigates the capabilities and technology enablers that are driving Best-in-Class results.
