- Cisco opened its industry-leading access routing
platform to

greater
business efficiencies and innovation, further lowering the
Total Cost of
Ownership with the Cisco Integrated Services Router in the
branch.
- Cisco today also introduced the new Cisco AXP Network

provides additional performance value for the Cisco 2800
and 3800 Series
ISRs (list price US$4,500). AXP v1.1 supports an emulated
development blade
utilizing the VMware player, this allows developers to build
applications
on their PCs, which can be ported onto Cisco AXP modules.
- Multiple applications are already available on the Cisco
AXP and today
Cisco introduced two new Cisco Technology Developer Program
AXP partners:
Global Protocols (satellite communications) and Tiani Spirit
(healthcare
imaging). Cisco is also pleased to announce that the Cardiovascular
Group,
P.C. has deployed Sagem-Interstar's XMediusFAX
facsimile-over-Internet-Protocol (FoIP) solution on the
Cisco AXP to help

for a robust,
fast and reliable
HIPAA-compliant healthcare communication solution.

power consumption and rack space. In all, The Cardiovascular
Group
anticipates monthly savings of $3,000 in telecom and document
handling
costs," said Daryl Schweiger, Information Systems Manager
of The
Cardiovascular Group, P.C.
- "Not only does the Cisco AXP allow us to deliver our
SkipWare®

platform,
it has also vastly increased our competitiveness in the
military
communications market," said Nick Yuran, VP of business
development for
Global Protocols.
- "With improving technical capabilities in the sharing
of radiology
images and documents between physicians and labs, there
is a growing

Martin Tiani, chief
executive officer, Tiani Spirit. "The Tiani Spirit applications
have been
in production for two years and were quickly and easily
