Sempra Energy isn't joining the Marines, but it is faithful to making money in utility markets in the US and around the world. In the US Sempra distributes natural gas to some 5.7 million customers and electricity to 1.4 million customers through its Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) utilities. Unregulated subsidiaries include Sempra Pipelines & Storage, Sempra Generation, and Sempra LNG, which have global energy projects and serve power and gas customers (mainly in Latin America). Sempra Energy companies serve more that 29 million customers worldwide.
