Thomson West focuses on the letter of the law. The subsidiary of financial information giant Thomson Reuters, publishes legal information for law students, professionals, and consumers. Its products, which are available in print and electronic formats, include law encyclopedias, textbooks, and study aids; state and federal law books; court opinions; how-to legal guides; and law indexes. Thomson West also operates the Westlaw online research service, which contains about 30,000 legal, financial, and business news databases. In addition, the company offers law firm marketing software through its Hubbard One subsidiary. Thomson West is part of the Legal segment of the Thomson Reuters' Professional division.
