Long a dominant distributor of medical and surgical supplies to alternative health care sites such as nursing homes, the company is a subsidiary of the nation's #1 drug wholesaler, McKesson. From its 29 distribution centers located throughout the US, McKesson Medical-Surgical delivers more than 150,000 products, including its own private label line, to doctors' offices, clinics, surgery centers, nursing homes, and other non-hospital health care facilities. It sold its acute care operations, which targeted hospitals, to Owens & Minor in 2006.
