Louis Dreyfus Group is banking on agriculture. The conglomerate has operations around the globe and is engaged in processing, trading, and merchandising a range of agricultural commodities, including wheat, oilseeds, cocoa, coffee, cotton, meat, rice, sugar, and ethyl alcohol. Its citrus division is one of the world's largest producers of orange juice. Other activities include petroleum product refining and marketing, property development, forestry management and particleboard manufacturing, and the design and building of telecommunication products. The group is owned by Louis Dreyfus SAS, which in turn is a subsidiary of Florentz, the chief holding company for Louis Dreyfus.
