Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On July 31, 2009, Magellan Petroleum Australia Limited ("MPAL"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Magellan Petroleum Corporation (the "Company"), ended the employment of Dr. T. Gwynn Davies as MPAL's CEO and General Manager, for reasons of redundancy. The change was effective on July 31, 2009. Dr. Davies was previously identified as a "named executive officer" of the Company in its most recent definitive proxy statement dated April 20, 2009. The Company is implementing a new organizational structure in the United States, and for MPAL and the Company's Australian operations.
