On April 23, 2009 Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. issued a press release announcing the presentation of new data from multiple analyses of its Phase III pivotal clinical trial evaluating the efficacy, safety and tolerability of rifaximin in adult patients with hepatic encephalopathy. These data will be presented during one oral and two poster sessions at the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver being held this week in Copenhagen (April 22 - 26, 2009). A copy of this press release is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
