Officers.
On April 20, 2009, Bruce A. Peacock, a member of the Board of Directors (the
"Board") of Ligand Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (the "Company" or "Ligand"),
notified the Company of his decision not to stand for re-election at our
upcoming annual stockholders meeting on May 29, 2009. The decision by
Mr. Peacock not to stand for re-election to the Board was not the result of any
disagreement with Ligand on any matter related to the Company's operations,
policies or practices.
