Item 8.01. Other Events.

On January 28, 2009, Quicksilver Resources Inc. issued a press release announcing (i) preliminary operating results for year-end 2008, (ii) 2008 year-end debt and liquidity levels, (iii) compliance with all of its debt covenants at year-end 2008, and (iv) certain pre-tax noncash impairment charges. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
