On November 18, 2008, Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. issued a press release announcing the issuance of a U.S. patent for rifaximin. A copy of this press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.

Also on November 18, 2008, Salix issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has extended the review date for the New Drug Application for METOZOLV™ Orally Disintegrating Tablets. A copy of this press release is attached as Exhibit 99.2.
