TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 20, 2009) - Brompton VIP Income Fund (TSX:VIP.UN - News) announces the distribution rate of $0.07 per unit for record dates in October, November and December 2009. This reflects a reduction from the previous monthly rate of $0.08 per unit. Among the reasons for the reduction were distribution cuts or conversions to corporate structures by certain income trusts in the portfolio over the past eight months and a greater portfolio weighting to dividend-paying equities. The new distribution level of $0.84 per annum represents an attractive yield of 10.4% based on the October 19, 2009 closing market price.
