| | Genuine Parts Company distributes automotive and industrial replacement parts, office products, and electrical/electronic materials in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It has four segments: Automotive, Industrial, Office Products, and Electrical/Electronic Materials. The Automotive segment distributes automotive replacement parts and accessory items for imported vehicles, trucks, SUVs, buses, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, and farm vehicles, as well as for repair shops, service stations, fleet operators, automobile and truck dealers, leasing companies, bus and truck lines, mass merchandisers, farms, industrial concerns, and individuals performing maintenance and parts installation. It owns and operates automotive parts distribution centers and automotive parts stores under the NAPA name. The Industrial segment distributes industrial bearings, mechanical and fluid power transmission equipment, industrial automation products, material handling components, and related parts and supplies through branches, distribution centers, and service centers to the food, forest products, primary metal, paper, mining, automotive, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. The Office Products segment distributes computer supplies, imaging products, office furniture, office machines, general office products, school supplies, cleaning and breakroom supplies, and healthcare products to resellers through distribution centers. The Electrical/Electronic Materials segment offers electrical/electronic materials, including insulating and conductive materials, such as magnet wire, conductive materials, insulating and shielding materials, assembly tools, test equipment, adhesives and chemicals, pressure sensitive tapes, solder, anti-static products, and thermal management products to original equipment manufacturers, motor repair shops, and assembly markets for use in electronic and electrical apparatus. The company was founded in 1928 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. |
