Deere & Co., up $1.02 at $51.85 A Morgan Stanley analyst upgraded the world's largest farm machinery manufacturer on rising demand and higher corn prices. Campbell Soup Co., up 48 cents at $34.60 The company said profit rose on lower costs from increased efficiency in getting its products from its plants to store shelves. Financial Federal Corp., up $6.06 at $26.61 Regional bank operator People's United Financial Inc. agreed to buy Financial Federal for $738 million in a stock and cash deal. Schlumberger Ltd., up $1.29 at $64.63 An analyst upgraded the stock, citing its attractive international exposure and optimism about the oilfield services' earnings outlook. NASDAQ: Zions Bancorp., up $1.57 at $14.12 The bank holding company announced an offer to exchange about $140 million of its preferred stock for common stock. Peet's Coffee & Tea Inc., down $4.94 at $33.06 The coffee chain retailer raised its offer for the wholesale roaster and distributor Diedrich Coffee Inc. to $265 million.
